I want it, what is it?

Interceptor is a pseudo Proxy server that performs http diagnostics and lets you see the two way communication between your browser and the Internet.

• View HTTP headers - view each entire HTTP header or just the first line.
• Debug your ASP or JavaScript
• See Cookies being sent and received - control whether they get sent or not.!
• See what the JavaScript on a web page is actually doing!
• Even change your Referer and User-Agent tags to pose as someone else!
• Find out what sort of URL redirection the site may be using.
• A must for webmasters, or as a debugger for any one writing software that uses HTTP
• Use it to help increase web traffic, by seeing what tricks the TOP web pages are up to
• May even help reveal cloaking and cloaked redirection, if you change your referer and
  user agent tags to look like a search engine. However Interceptor does not have the power
  to mimic another site's IP, so this function may prove limited.

What are its main uses?

We developed Interceptor for our own in-house use. While working on our PicoSpider ™ product, that spiders the Internet, we needed to see what all the HTTP headers were doing, and we also needed to see every possible type of HTML a site could throw at us. Whenever our spider would not read a site, we ran it with Interceptor, and it became easy to see what the problem was.

As a debugger for anyone engaged in writing HTTP software, it is indispensable.

See what happens when your browser executes JavaScript: A page of Script can look very complicated, but eventually, it usually ends up doing a GET or POST command, Interceptor shows you all this in the 'requests from client/browser' window.

If you are writing a browser, it will probably save you a great deal of time. Bill Gates ought to buy a copy ;)

For debugging cgi-scripts or ASP it is a must, because going to 'View Source' in your browser only shows you the output page, whereas with Interceptor, you get to see the entire two-way interaction. So although you can't see the actual script, you get to find out exactly what it is doing to your browser!

You can capture any fast moving text or graphics, that are 'here and gone' too quick to read.

Also useful for investigating different types of cloaking and frames cloaking.
