Before you even think of using Interceptor, check here for the latest version, it may have
enhancements...
Please get version 1.2M to take advantage of all the features below including 'stay on
top'.
If you are a registered user, your software key will
always work with the latest version, and there is usually no need to re-enter it.
IMPORTANT
With its ability to change referrer and user agent tags, Interceptor can really confuse some websites, especially if you turn off cookies. Therefore we recommend that you don't use it on secure sites and especially on Credit Card sites. For instance, hotmail will not work with cookies denied. Some sites tell you that you must have cookies on, others just plain don't work! Interceptor is primarily a diagnostic tool. It is good practice to back up anything important before performing diagnostics on a site where the browser can alter the contents. Your emails on 'hotmail' fall into this category.
Also, we insist that you get the free version of Interceptor working before paying to register, so that you can verify that it works on your system, and your money is not wasted on a product you don't need.
Setting up Interceptor is easy if you use the same computer for everything.
First make sure your Internet connection is working, before you try to use
interceptor, and that you can browse the Internet normally.
Then, just set up your web browser to use a proxy server called localhost, on port 81. localhost is a special network name that all windows PCs have once tcp/ip is running. It will always resolve to the correct ip address for connecting to severs on the same machine.
Below are 2 screen shots from Netscape 7.0. Be sure to set SOCKS to v4.

NOTE you must NOT enable Keep-Alive when using Interceptor v1.1

Here is the same thing in Internet Explorer 6.0
The first shot is for use with a dial-up connection.

This is the place to set up a proxy for a LAN connection.

Important, be sure to UN-CHECK: Use HTTP 1.1 through Proxy connections,
As this is the only way to disable Keep-Alive in I.E6.0

Use the Default settings in Interceptor, and press the start button. You should see status: Active. If you start browsing now, you should see all the requests and responses whiz by on the input and out put windows:

Here is a screen shot showing the default settings for reference.

Note: Interceptor will not accept requests until you
press the start button.
Note: Do not check "Connect to
proxy" unless you normally connect to the internet via a proxy.
If in doubt, always try un-checked first.
