Setting up a double opt-in campaign
A double opt-in email campaign allows you to send a series of emails to those who requested information, with a higher degree of protection from accusations of SPAMING.
Here's how it works:
1) You 'advertise' (that is to say promote links to it on your website, or better still via a form on your website) the initial AutoResponder address - for example it might be info@mywallpaper.com , with say, a blank subject line, or better still a simple one word subject like 'designs'
2) When your prospects email you at that address with that subject, you get DTR to send them a very short email thanking them for their inquiry, and informing them that they should click on the link below to be put on the mailing list. The beauty of this is that if someone has signed them up for your autoresponse, without their knowledge, they will not bother to click on your link, and will not get pestered by the series of emails that would have followed, had it been a 'single' opt-in AutoResponder.
3) To make the link, the following syntax is used: mailto:info@mywallpaper.com?subject=453986 . Note that there are no spaces, even in the subject. Some email browsers can handle spaces, and some can't. if you want a multi-word subject, just connect_the_words_with_underscores.
4) Now you simply set up another AutoResponder account with 453986 (or whatever subject you put in the link) as the subject, and you can then set this second responder to dispatch the full 5 email course. The reason we used that random looking number, is that there is little chance of some mischievous person guessing that number, and signing up people against their wills.
So here is how the first email will look in the DTR email box:

If you have a catch-all mail box, and you want to make the opt-in even more secure, you could make the second address a different sub name ie: wallinfo@mywallpaper.com. Then set up the second response to match not just the subject line, but the 'For/To' address as well.
